what can anyone tell me about these guys? how big do they get and what do they eat? any info would be great. Thanks

ive been keeping these plecs for a few years, with mixxed success. they done get very big, i dont think they like the tank too warm, and they seem to enjoy well airated water with some current. ive watched mine eat cucumber, wafers, mixxed flake food, frozen stuff, just about anything i try to feed. i bought three just a few months ago, and only one made it so im a little upset about that. this is probably my favorite plecos to keep too

An important thing you should do, is forget their common name 'Blue Panaque' as they are Baryancistrus, and require different husbandry.

Thanks for the input. My guy seems to be doing good but ive noticed that he prefers one side of the tank as opposed to going to the other side, he likes to stay close to my sponge filter and a piece of driftwood that i got in front of the sponge; could be because theres some good flow to that side of the tank.

That's funny. I never noticed that. I've never looked top much into them though. I wonder why they still have that name.

Very easy to keep. They eat just about anything and they're very active, as is the case with many baryancistrus. They're great in groups; I've had them in groups of 10 or more with great success. Adult size is about 3 inches, but they tend to stay a bit smaller IME.
