Hi everyone. Hope your doing well. Last year I got a Blue Texas Cichlid. He's GORGEOUS but so mean. He comes after me when I'm doing water changes. Do they normally do that?

Yes they will come after your arm and will bite if given the opportunity.
My guy Casper got me a couple times...
I then had to in tank net him while doing water changes for a few years, then we finally came to an agreement that tank cleaning is a good thing and not dinner time.

Your blue Texas is not necessarily mean, he is just territorial. You are obviously taking good care of him, he is quite handsome and healthy looking. What size tank do you have him in?
You could do that as well. Don't know why I didn't think of it.
Surprisingly only took about a dozen nettings before Casper just surrender and would flop into the net, his way of saying "can we just get this over with"
It has a teeny nuchal bump which I’m pretty sure that means like it’s the boss or territorial but I’m not a expert on cichlids
