I was wondering if anybody on here has ever been able to breed fire eels. I know its very difficult and im not saying i wanna try it right now but i am just curious. after searching on google i've found some articles but none mention what actually happens during spawning and what pre-spawning behaviour should look like. I'd really like to know this so maybe somebody here can help??

I have a pdf document that gose into detail about how to bred peacock eel's I can send you. After I read it I did see that my fire eels going thou the same spawing steps. I never did find any eggs  If you want it I can e-mail you a copy of it :)

Breeding is rare and extremely difficult
spawnings have been reported in captivity in large tanks. The pH was neutral and the hardness was moderate (dH 10-15). The temperature was warm 78 degrees. 800-1200 eggs were laid in floating plants. Not much is known about the breeding procedure. The babies grow very fast at thier early stages provided they are properly fed.
