Currently I have 4 Taiwan Reef Cichlids, 1 is a dominant male, I believe I may have 3 females, I am not quite sure yet because 1 is growing a bit fast and might be showing colors I cannot tell yet, but I was wondering if any one has bred them and knows what kind of attention they need and size of tank and etc. Will post pics when I can get them.

Taiwan reef cichlids???

simple malawi tank. sand lots of rocks and open swimming space. with 1m 3f a 55g is good. they dont get too big. Let all fish growout and watch the male work hearding all the females.

I would agree with the last poster. However keep a good eye on the females as the males like to harass them causing stress and unwillingness to breed. I have had some issues keeping females healthy with this species. Never the males always the females. I have started to keep the females seperate from the males for long periods of time and then put a male in with a group of females. doesnt take long and all females will be holding.

Bad news on the 1 Male to 3 Female ratio I thought I had, I was looking closely at one of the 3 I thought were a female because I was curious and it turned in the light and a bunch of blue scales shined lol, looks like I have 2 males and 2 females :(

Just some pics of my dominant male
