i havent looked at this thread in a while, but i saw it again and wantedt o let you know yours was one of the first threads i looked and it got me hooked on mfk thanks again and tank and room looks beautiful

VLD - how is the power consumption on this beast? have you noticed a significant bump in your electric bill?

Interesting that you ask about power..

I recently put one of those kill-a-watt things inline to gage this and average cost per day is as follows:

With the heaters keeping the temp @ 82F is about $2.25 (15 KWH of energy at a cost of .15 per KWH)

Without heaters and the tank @ a natural temp of 77.5F the cost is about $1.42
(9.5 KWH of energy at a cost of .15 per KWH)

This is with the main pump, lights and air pump on the same circuit.

I am currently running without the heaters since i moved my FRT upstairs to the 300 for a while as the rays were kind of picking on him.

It would be interesting to get the same figures for several size tanks, I bet the cost-per-day doesn't increase proportionally with the gallons.
