Have you tested your water?
No
If I did not test my water...
...I recognize that I will likely be asked to do a test, and that water tests are critical for solving freshwater health problems.
Do you do water changes?
Yes
What percentage of water do you change?
51-60%
How frequently do you change your water?
Every week
If I do not change my water...

Hello, I really am not a monster fish enthusiast so please bear with me guys. So, I thought I was doing good for a whole year but then I noticed just this yesterday that my lil girl (not so little) has bumped scales on her right side. I didn't notice since the bumped scales were the same color as the others, so it blended real well.

Does anyone know what this is? Is it sumn I should be worried about, like is it contagious? Genetic? (I got two tanks, this one and a nano community tank so I'm really worried if this sumn contagious)

Also, I don't have a test kit, hopefully next year I can buy one (it's damn expensive here and I still depend on my parents as I'm a minor, so I really have been saving up for that since this January )

Here are some videos 🥹😓
Note: did a water change after taking the vid

Does she eating food?

if you don’t have a water test kit then you have to change 50% water and make sure your new water temperature as same as the your tank water temperature

I can't really see what you are talking about in the vids. She seems to be behaving normally. If the scales are lifted slightly and the slime coat is disrupted, I would add 1tbsp salt per 5 gal of tank water, keep it at that concentration for 2 weeks, replacing the salt with your usual weekly 50% water change.

What filter media is in the small corner box filter you have in her tank? From a biological filtration stand point it may be adequate, but a fish that size produces quite the bio-load, you may consider adding an internal or HOB power filter also.

Thank you guys, I did put salt in there with a dosage of 1 tbsp for every 5 gallons for about till next Saturday. I just accepted the fact that probably it's just part of her body and I was just overreacting. And it doesn't look like dropsy scales hopefully I am not speaking to soon. I am also planning to buy another filter for her, thanks for the advice. As long as she acts normally I guess it's fine?

The bumped scales kinda look what moles are on people, except hers isn't black nor red it's the same color as her other scales so I was really surprised and had a hard noticing it like you
Hahaha

Hello I'll give an update on her on Saturday just to help those who might encounter the same.
