hello, so I got this fellow for £20 as a male jaguar cichlid. He was totally washed out in the bottom of a Lfs sumo tank...he is about 6 inches and I immediately said he must be a RTM cross at least. So I bought him and got him in the tank and I am even more convinced. What do people think he is?

Yup, looks hybrid. For what it's worth, I agree with you, probably RTM or another parachromis x managuense. Of course, we will never know for sure.

I had a few jaguars that looked just like that from my breeding pair years ago. it could be hybrid but who knows? the white sand will give him that washed out look

I agree with a possible hybrid, has the face of a parachromis loisellei in my opinion but rest of the body doesnt quite match up. Very cool though.

I am pretty sure it’s a male, as I have female RTM and jaguar and the fins are a lot more pointy.. he took a bit of a kicking initially but he is settling in a colouring up looks very jaguarish in colours but head and gill plate pattern looks more RTM.. will post new pictures when I get home
