I have a 120G tank and Im thinking I would like to get the Gold nugget pleco and the Vampire pleco but not sure if they can be keep together?
If not which one would you choose?

Baryancistrus (gold nuggets) and Leporacanthicus (vampire) have opposing diets. Baryancistrus are primarily herbivorous grazers that should have a more vegetable and algae based diet. Leporacanthicus are more carnivorous and should have a more meat based diet. But this is not to say that they are completely incompatible as they both should be fed algae/vegetables and meat but in different quantities.

If you wanted a pair of different plecos Baryancistrus would be more suitable with Ancistrus, Hemiancistrus, Pterygoplichthys, Panaque, Hypostomus etc. Leporacanthicus would be suitable with Pseudacanthicus, Scobiancistrus.

In a 120 gallon tank I don't think there should be any territory/aggression issues between a pair of plecos.

If you were to choose one over the other, Baryancistrus are renowned for being difficult to keep (especially in the early stages) but there are relatively steps to take to negate this. So a Leporacanthicus would be a safer choice if you weren't confident enough for a Baryancistrus.

X2, Matt gave a great response.

Leporacanthicus and pseudas are a great mix.

If I had to choose, no question the L40 over the GN. A much more active and entertaining pleco.

Ya I really love the Vampire Plecos! I have two Bristlenose plecos in there now and there great algea eaters! Will the vampire be okay with the bristlenoses?

I also like Redtail Leopard Pleco (L-114) how about these ones?

A large adult L-114 will kill a vampire as what has happened to me. My L-114 is agressive with any pleco his size (11 inches). With smaller plecos and any non pleco species he completly ignores. This may not be the case with all pseudacanthicas but I wouldn't trust mine with any smaller expensive pleco.
