I've read people feeding them cooked mussels and cooked shrimp...does anyone with research or experience know if why or why not it's okay?
Raw is better, when its cooked you take away some of the vitamins they need.I've read people feeding them cooked mussels and cooked shrimp...does anyone with research or experience know if why or why not it's okay?
feed it as a treat. Salmon make them grow super fast.Raw it is...is salmon okay? I feed them blackworm/beefheart pellets that include salmon meal as the 2nd ingredient which they will eat...any input on salmon? I read someone said it might be too oily but its still fish...o.0

I'm gonna politely disagree here. Salmon is great for fish, the oil is only an issue if you don't have proper surface agitation since it goes right to the top. the oils and other vitamins present in salmon far outway the issue of it being on the top of your water column.Dont feed salmon, too oily and, use frozen tilapia fillet or cod, for shrimp or mussles and squid, only do it as a treat. I do 70% tilapia 20% hikari sinking carnivore pellet and 10% anchovies frozen.
