Can different size clown loaches live together in peace?

Hello, for a few years now I’ve had a clown loach that’s lived in its cichlids but no other clown loaches, he’s about 3.5-4 inches right now and I saw at my LFS they just received a batch of 1:5 inch clown loaches, I was wondering if there would be any issue adding maybe 3 or 4 to his tank ? Only thing other than the clown in the tank is a 1.5 inch datnoid

Go for it. I've only ever had clown loaches of roughly the same size together, but Emma Turner of Loaches Online has reported no problems mixing store-size juveniles even with Marge, the largest loach in her tank.

I've got loaches of all different sizes living together, mainly modesta with quite a few clowns, yoyos and tigers.

There is politics. There is a hierarchy. It works.

I will be interested in results. I recently have bought 6 1” clowns and 4 1” yo-yo but have not added either into existing groups as feared they were too small. The other clowns are 4” and the other yo-yo probably nearer 5” and just didn’t trust that they would accept them straight in.
