The price quote at a local glass store was ridiculous, so can lowes and homedepot cut it? (have you had them cut it?)

I know they'll cut the glass that they have in store, but I don't know if you can bring in your own glass...
they wont cut glass you don't buy there in case they break it. The glass they sell has a very low safety factor. Most you can't even use for a window or a shelf. Save yourself the money in the long run and pay the glass shop to cut it for you.
I went today, and mine can't. But I also stopped at a glass store and there I ordered my 3/8" glass. Due in a week.
Also got materials for the simple stand, and sealing/caulking the tank.

order 1.5" thick 4x8's and build a 4x8x8.

lol yeah better just ahve them cut it, may seem expensive but it's much cheaper than breaking the first and havign to order another and have them cut it anyway.
