i have 2 flowerhorn a male and a female. my male about 3" and my female is about 2.5" im planning on the mate them when they get bigger. right now i have them in separate tanks. i have an empty 30 gallon tank. i was planning on putting them in there but im not sure if they are going to kill each other. they have never seen each other before. this is a new tank and none of them have been in there.

All depends on the personality of the fish and its tolerance for other fish.

Flowerhorns I find to be very unpredictable in this topic. I would maybe try using a divider to let them get used to each other or see each other and you can see how they behave.

And then if you feel comfortable let them together and just watch them for an hour or so to see how the react to each others presence. Just make sure you have adequate hiding spots
