Questions..
1. Is overfiltration harmful ?

2. Is water conditions bad if the heater/intake/outtake outer parts gets slippery ? I think it is caused by algae or what is it that makes it like that? Am I not filtering enough ?

You could put 100kg of biomedia in a sump for a 10g tank with 10 neons and it wouldn't make the slightest difference, it would simply be useless as it isn't needed to house the bacteria colony large enough to consume the fishes waste. However, if you tried running a 10000ghp pump on that set up you'd probablyblow the tank to pieces. Too much flow can be bad for certain fish, but other than that all you're doing is wasting money.

Over filtration isn't harmful. It's too much flow that the tank gets that you should be careful about. I can put a canister filter on my 10g and reduce the flow to the minimum and would still have the same amount of filtration.

Agreed.

yes.
if you over filter to the point you are removing minerals from the water you can cause osmotic stress up to and including death.
unlikely, especially if you stick with conventional filtration, but it can be done.

I believe the slippery surfaces are due to the beneficial bacteria but I'm not sure. This seems to be common and normal from what I've learned at least. When I take something out it seems slippery to the touch at least

The only way is if the fish is in a whirlpool and cannot maintain balance and equalize properly thus causing stress then yes death.

The only way over filtration is going to ruin a tank or rid the minerals is if you put ungodly amounts of fresh carbon and or purigen with tons of gph.

As far wd bio media with bb more gph is better

Does the Caribbean Sea overfilter? What about the Amazon River? Does it? :) Perhaps Lake Erie.. You get my point. :)

Well there are turbulant underflows and if u put that in a aquarium they would obviously die in a matter of minutes but in rivers they can swim past em.

I wish I had a chunk of the amazon lol
