Woke up and noticed my eheim classic 2217 was Making a bit of noise but didn't think to much of it, went to do a water change and noticed it wasn't pulling or pushing water, took it apart cleaned propeller all that crap and nothing, the prop would try to spin half the time and just rattle the other time. Basically I said f it and bought a fx4 it'll be here Thursday, so how do I keep my bacteria alive fir 2 days? As of right now I have my broken canister hooked up just not turned on. It's filled with water

Like I said in other thread that someone got same issue like you.
You will need to take out all your bio media from the broken filter and place it in your current tank, feed less and use power head for water circulation, do water change daily if needed.

Well that can't happen because I don't have a powerhead, and I work in 30 mins. I'll just have to plit the media from another tank I have once my fx4 comes in, I have a sponge filter running in it now it's been running in there fir a few months so I think I'll be okay I'll just keep an eye on parameters

I'm surprised you had problems with your eheim 2217 that series of filters are great, real work horses and I like how the media has to travel up the whole filter so there's no bipass at all. Never used the x series of fluval back when I used canisters they were still using the 300 series and just started coming out with the 400s so I can't speak for the x. But the 300 and 400 were garbage always problems with o ring and would end up leaking. Plus you would have to prime it with a little push up handle and would take forever

I had 2, one on a 55 and one on a 75, the 55 broke so I took it down and replaced it with the one on the 75, well that one was doing good for about 5 sec until the top popped off and water sprayed everywhere, fixed that issue and git it all straighten out then I had terrible flow. long story short I got pissed threw them both away and now I have a fx4 on my 75 and 2 sponge filters on my 55.
