Carpintis? Male?

Hi thanks for your time and appreciate any input. Is this a Carpintis and male? I bought the little guy as "Electric Blue Texas" and is roughly 2.5" but that's by eyeballing.20191201_001159.jpg

One of the best methods at telling male from female carpintus, is by looking at the head profile, the shot above kind of masks that.
The fins are slightly rounded at the tips , normally a female trait.
Below is a mature male, sometimes fish need to be mature to show these traits, but also note how its dorsal and anal fin come to points.

note how the "forehead" is bulbous.
below a female, note the less steep, yet more torpedo shape, and rounded anal fin tip.

Yours is very young, maybe too young to tell, but....
Below a shot where these are only about 2" or less, note the profile of the male (dead center) compares with most others around him.

also note her rounded fins.
