catfish "whiskers"

do catfish whiskers regenerate if the fish loses or damages them?
has anyone observed permanent damage?
 
what if it's cut? My rtc X tsn's had a lil tussel and one of their whiskers now looks like string cheese lol

Yeah i have an oscar that i guess you can say i adopted off a someone bc he was getting banged up and i felt bad. his fins were destroyed they side fins grew back but the underbelly fins have not kinda feel bad for the little guy.

I think catfish whiskers are more specialized than the fins and would have less chance of regeneration
