It is a retirement choice I do not regret.
Being a bit small, the ones netted the other day were put in the sump, and are doing well.
Since the heavily planted sump sits in direct sun, for at least 6 hours per day, algae can get thick on the glass without them.
They also have access to the biomedia area, and help clearing mulm.
They seem to appreciate any amount of extra current offered, to the extent that they crawl above waters surface in the tanks overflow to graze in areas above the water line, in the splash zone..
