Changing From Sand to Tiles

I initially wanted to have my black bullhead aquarium have sand on the bottom, because I thought that the bullhead would be able to display some burrowing behaviors, plus I thought it would look pretty cool. However, several months later, the sand is just being a real pain. It is difficult to clean, plus the bullhead keeps throwing up sand, where it ends up jamming up the filter. This has resulted in me having to raise the filter intake to reduce the amount of sand getting sucked up. Anyway, to make a long story short, I plan on going to home depot or lowers or wherever, and pick up some cheap glazed ceramic floor tiles, and then cover my tank floor with them, after removing the sand. Any suggestions?
