in the 40g with the firemouth I’m going to remove half of the gravel tonight and replace it with sand so the cichlid can sift for food. The tank has a good amount of plants so the gravel isn’t completely siphoned on a regular basis. Should I siphon the gravel on one half and use a red solo cup to scoop out gravel to try to stop as much debris from floating around. What’s the best way to do this

Can you siphon the gravel out with your siphon into a bucket? If so that would help to keep a lot of the debris from floating around in the tank.

Siphon the gravel out of the tank? Like purposely get gravel to build up into the siphon until it starts going down the hose and into the bucket? I could try it but I think the gravel would get stuck in the hose
