Hello, im basically asking for all and any info you guys have on
Channel catfish and bullhead catfish,
Your own experiences and compatibilites.
Total size, and food.
what to expect at maximum size for both,
and also tank requirements.
Thank You.

Bullheads average around 1-2 lbs, but can get bigger. Channel cats on the other hand can get to 40-50 lbs. A 6 lb channel cat will be somewhere around 25 inches.

Both are omnivores and will eat most anything edible.

Bullheads sizes ranges from 10-24 inches depending on the type and for the most part eat anything (spotted 10 inches to the Black Bullhead which max's out at 24 inches). They eat insect larvae, crawdads, scuds, small fish, worms and some plant material. Channel catfish can reach 4ft long and get up to 50lbs. They eat anything that will fit in their mouth.

i have an albino channel cat thats about 8 inches long his name is hoover cause hes like a vaccuum cleaner, any food that hits the bottom is sucked right up by him, makes cleaning the tank easier..lol...

I have a very active albino channel cat that is almost a foot long now, so I am sure of a tank in the 600 gallon range or bigger would be needed when 2 feet or more in length.

Not trying to flame but thats not altogether true.....I think you could probably keep a Channel in a 800g tank if it had the right footprint and filtration, and some Bullhead get only 10-18 inches long max. (spotted, snail, and Flat Bullheads) and could live in a 100g min. and Yellow Bullheads max at 19 inches, so they could live in a 150g min for life if the footprints right (by footprint were talking about dimensions).

do u think they would be compatible with a rtc. i know he will grow faster then the channle cat but at maximum size would they be compatible
