Cichla Collection (Fogo and Orino Meta)

I went from ZERO Cichla 6 months ago to 9x Fogo and 9x Orino Meta.

I can definitely understand the fascination with these fish now.

Just got in the batch of 9x Fogo from M mrdee about an hour ago. Perfect packaging. Fish all came in super alert and energetic. Expert shipping.

They'll go into the beat up 90G acrylic QT tank for a month and then into the 1000G to join the Orino group

9x Orino Meta in their current 1000G mixed in with Red Tiger Sevs and Satanoperca Pappaterra

Finally got the last one to take pellets. Took six months. Still only taking floating sticks, but that's good enough for now. Massivore eventually hopefully.

Can't wait to get the 9x Fogo in. Gonna QT 1 month per my usual protocol. No rush... treating a 1000G tank is miserable and expensive.

Some more pics of the orino metas looking sharp. Water quality a little hazy due to them just getting fed pellets.

Your big tank is beautiful, I'am so jealous. All your fishes look so nice and vibrant. Great job, can't wait to see those fogos mature and into the big tank. Keep them updates coming!!!

More post pellet feed debris in water pics. Need to take some prior to a feed next time.

Showcasing the vacuum of the tank, the niger cat. The rate of growth is insane. Probably about 2 inches a month, and about as thick as my arm now.

That niger cat is for sale in the buy/sell section. $100.

Thinking about getting a Lince or a couple of Zebrina pikes as a more active bottom denizen. The niger cat is just too sedentary for my tastes.
