I just got back from the fish store and picked up two intresting looking cichlids. They were losted as green hornets, however I havent been able to find any information on them. One of the workers at the stores said they were related to severums, if any one knows any info on this fish it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

These appear to me, to be Cryptoheros sajica, although they could be another of the Cryptoheros species, or a hybrid of 2.
As far as being related to severums, yes, they are part of the tribe of Heroine cichlids, and as closely related as festae to severum, or angelfish to oscars. But these are from Central America, while severums are from South America. I realize some think there is not much difference between south and central, but I live in Panama, and the difference and distance, is monumental.

Looks a lot like a female Amatitlania siquia 'Rio Cabuya'. Ordinarily they'll show bars, but when stressed their bodies can be dark, like in the photo you posted. Here is a female I have:
