Alright guys. Please give me as many honest opinions as you can. With small cory cats right now growing up, what other cichlids will NOT eat them once it gets bigger? I already got firemouths. But Im going with either sevs, or would like a chocolate. Really the main question here is which ones get big but not to big for my 125 that WONT eat corys lol?

Eating a Cory catfish is dangerous to ones health... They have surprisingly sharp spines on their dorsal fins that can easily puncture the eater and even prevent it from swallowing.

Yeah I was thinking it wouldn't be a good choice for much of anything to eat, Ive seen some fish do some pretty dumb things though.

I seriously doubt much more goes through a fish's mind when it decides to eat another fish other than "oh, that looks good..." CHOMP. :)

Yeah Im just most likely going to go with sevs. On a side note, can you add new fish if you are doing a precautionary med dose of prozipro?

Prazi is pretty gentle stuff IME. I don't see why not. You do want to be careful with more sensitive species though as the stress of a new tank is a factor.

I had a cory in my cichlid tank tank that could have been eaten by several tank-mates if they so-desired, but i made sure he had tons of little hiding spots only he could fit into, and he was fine. the only thing was, he was totally stressed&unhappy from all the picking-on cichlids tend to do, so i moved him back into a gentle community and he's much happier. a pleco and crawfish took his place for a while, and they withstood the nips much better. i think your cories will be fine with any cichlid you choose as long as they can hide properly. +1 on aclockworkorange's comment :>

I've only kept corys with a few species of SA cichlids personally, and the only one that bothered them was an apistogramma species.
