I know that crayfish are known to attack other fish. I really want a blue cray, but have clownloaches. Would the cray attack my clownloaches? or would it be okay? I also have angels and an ebjd, and possibly getting a baby lemon oscar. I know when the oscar gets big he could possibly go after the cray's, but I'm hoping it'll get big enough, and I'll have alot of hiding places for it. Whats everyone's opinion? think it'll be okay?

In general, crayfish (other than dwarf species) should not be mixed with fish at all. You can't combine clown loaches practically with any invertebrates. Several loaches relish crustaceans as part of their diet even in the wild. Sooner or later when your crayfish molts, your clown loaches will eventually rip it to pieces. There is no win situation here.

^^ Agree, your set up is not right for a crayfish. Sorry! Plus clown loaches are close to the gravel and crayfish may attack it as well.

Not a good combination IMO...they will get eaten eventually.

:headbang2....:naughty:.

I dont know what the group thinks but my wife read on one site to just pull or pinch off the movable part of the claw this will make so the cray can not hold the fish and eat them. Just an idea dont know if it is good or bad or if anyone else has tried it what do you guys think?

Seriously??????? Thats the worst advice i have ever heard. Not flamming you but if you told MFKers that you pulled off a claw just to house it with certain fish, your gonna get the chewing out of a life time...Never EVER DO THIS TO A CRAY OR ANY OTHER ANIMAL....:irked:

I heard you could staple the loaches tail to a piece of wood so he cant go after the cray.

:ROFL::ROFL: Yeah, intentionally harming an animal so that it cannot harm another animal makes no sense at all, totally bad advice.
