hi i have a 7 x 2 x 2 ft tank in 10mm glass , and it has some chips on the outer edges on the tank from transportation ,will these turn into cracks or will the glass be toughened and able to take these scrapes as there is no cracking? if this is just risky to leave it is there any way to repair this? cheers.

I have a 120g 48x24x24 it has some nicks on some of the corners and it's fine doesn't leak at all.

Had this 150 gal tank up and running for about 25 years, when I bought the tank it had a few chips, and I've added a few more moving it in 2010.

Hello; I have tanks with smaller chips that the one so far pictured that have held up well. I do not know how to judge when a chip becomes a risk but have found a way to help prevent the chips.
I get plastic corner protectors made to go on the outside corners on walls to protect wallpaper. I cut them to length and silicone them to the outside corners of my all glass tanks. They do not look too bad and have so far prevented the chips that happen. I can find the wider ones around here and use a straight edge and a utility knife to trim the width down to match the width of the glass on tanks with glass thinnerr than the plastic trim.

I think I would sell it. Just not enough to risk flooding my house. I seen a 4x2x2 120 bust cause a chip that been there for years. When it busted it was something like that giant tank in China that busted recently. Not a pretty thing to watch.
