I somewhat recently picked up a crabro and I have heard conflicting reports on how big they get. he appears to be male and I just want to know what to expect as he matures.

Over seven inches and they are aggressive. I would keep them in a 75G aquarium or larger and 1m:7f or more females.

Thanks so much for the info, I really apreciate it. He is in a 150 with a bunch of other africans who are mostly female(the only other males are my GT and convict cichlids)

They lose the bumblebee coloration as they mature. I would not keep him with females unless they are all his species, you don't want hybrid fry.

I dont think any of those fry will make it to adulthood, as I also have a venustus that has manged to decimate an entire convict spawn before

Just make certain so your pure fish can still be identified. Hybrids can look exactly like either parent. Maybe stock 5 Synodontis multipunctatus.
