A fish supplier in Texas came across the three smaller fish in a 2024 import of dwarf pike. Sold them to me as a mystery fish. I spent months trying to ID them, then I found the larger ones listed as crenicichla stocki on aquabid, and that's the same species. Not imported unless by accident, this is one of the 4 species of froghead pike....and the best looking one by far, when they aren't striped up, the purples are magnificent under proper lighting. I'd like to try to breed them. Having 5 of these is a miracle...but I just don't have the tank space, they are too aggressive.
