Hello,

I try to understand what is meaning by crossback and hightbacj for an arowana fish. ?
Try to find some explications and pictures to see the light !

Someone could help me ?
Thanks!

A crossback is a fish that has gold colour on its 6th level of scales, so basically the fish has colour crossing it on top, thus the name. A highbacks gold tone is restricted to the 5th level of scales leaving the top of the fish to have a red/brownish colour.

Some crossbacks don't have the crossing, although they are labeled by their farms.
Hope this helped.

Crossback is not necessary have to be fully crossed. The biggest different will be the shine intensity of their scales. From a very young age, the xback's scales should be fully shiny (even just silver and not all scales). The high back's scales will be less shiny and most of the scales are only shiny at the frame like RTG. The value of the Xback is highly base on the shine intensity of the scales. hope this help.
