My pair took over a 125 gal all to themselves.
A 75 might be OK for a female, but would be precarious for a pair.
Also consider that they are the only endemic cichlid to their habitat, suggesting they do not play well with others
From what I've heard is that cubans have kind of the same personality as most jack dempsey's, very aggressive and stubborn and once they put their mind on something they won't stop till whatever it is is done. Lol I've had jacks that if they didn't like where something was they wouldn't stop pushing it untill it was where they wanted it.

Solo would be doable, but yeah, a pair could spell disaster.
Not many of the super aggressive cichlids make good pairs in a 75.

OP’s looks male btw.

god I want some. You think I could do a pair in a 75?
My Cuban is pretty aggressive I have him with a common pleco and occasionally they will nip at each other, but they are pretty peaceful and they both have their own areas of the tank. I would recommend them solo or a pair. But they are amazing and colorful, feeding pellets and blood worms really get them to pop and they will get a blue tint to them.

I had a jack Dempsey before this Cuban and they are pretty similar. The Cubans do a lot more digging and moving of objects I’ve noticed. But they are by far my favorite cichlids I’ve kept.

Always kind of wanted one but just never had the extra space for it lol. I want to cross one with a FH and see if I can make myself some all black and white FH's out of it. I love the colors of the cuban I just wish it came on a taller body style. I think it would look better with a bit of a better side profile.
