Cuban cichlid sex

I have aways been AWFUL at venting cichlids, I usually just let them grow to a point where it's pretty obvious before I decide lol. I have also never owned a Cuban before, this is my first and only one to date.

Getting photos is difficult, it's still a juvie (about 3.5-4") so it's kinda shy and currently in a black environment - black gravel, black background - so it's very darkly coloured and camouflaged. But I was moving it from one tank to another today so I grabbed a couple quick shots. Thoughts?

That was my thought too after actually venting...but I'd always leaned towards female based on visual appearance, from what I could find online. I managed to get some crappy videos of it just now, squabbling with my chonk of a marbled convict male. Don't mind Tolken casually getting in the way.

In the video sure looks female…
I don’t think juvenile Cubans exhibit the same coloring as adult male Cubans do from that small a size? I could be wrong of course. Taking into account that she has the youngster in a dark environment too, it may be exhibiting the darker coloring we’re used to seeing in females. I guess we’d have to wait till it gets larger to know with more certainty.
