Midwest Customs. Based out of minneapolis. Chris Boelke was a pleasure to work with and by far the best tank i own. shipping to chicago should be very reasonable. It's the tank in my sig.

Glass Cages has a truck going to chicago on the 11th they have good prices on cut glass. They can make custom tanks too but idk prices or anything there.

I just ordered a acrylic from Titan Aquatics (same people from Tenacor) via Fish tank direct. I would give either of them a call to get you headed in the right direction. I delt with the guys at Titan on the design and they were so nice to deal with. My tank will be 96x30x30...a friend of mine just got a 96x48x36 from them too.

I'll look at titan. thanks

Edit, gosh I can't believe how much truly custom tanks throw a wrench in the price scheme. Wanting a 84 inch long tank will cost me 500 to 1,000 more simply because its such a unique length.

Hi,

I used Coast to Coast in NJ. Chris was a pleasure to work with. I had it shipped to FL as well.

The build thread is in my sig....and the tank is my avatar :)

Best of luck with your new build!!!!!

I'm quite amazed by a number of things. Firstly how much acrylic prices have changed! Secondly, how aquarium size to price ratio scales. I mean To get a 7'x3'x3' acrylic tank is more than getting a 10'x3'x3' glass tank. That is just amazing too me. The acrylic tank is like 5,000 and the glass tank is around 4,000 approximately. Prices across manufacturers are pretty uniform so it comes down to who has the better rep/design/process as far as acrylic goes. I can get a 210 new for about 800 reef ready as they say.

I'm thinking I'm going to do that for the short term then this summer when I can work outside and in my garage I'll start my ply wood build for a 7'x3.5'x3' to put in its place in my wall. I'll then move the 210 back into my fish room for a breeding tank for pbass or something. When that concludes towards the end of the summer I hope to maybe have the cash and enough of my basement done to look to a 10'x3'x3' glass tank from glasscages.com

Oh god I want it all.

I don't know how I feel about large glass, already have had my first leaking tank ever be a glass tank from craigslist is very scary but shouldn't deter me really. I know acrylic leaks. I've never had a tank explode on me(knock on wood). At the same time Acrylic is just SO MUCH MONEY! I don't know if I could manage having a tank in my house that is more than 1/10 of its value before stock, lol.

Any thoughts on Glass for this size(over 6 ft long and 30 or more inches tall)? Am I sacrificing integrity here?

I'm still pricing things out and still discerning my final course of action so your input is extremely valued.

I had a glasscages 240...not to bad...not to great...silicon wasnt all that but it held water. I was going to get a 300 tall to replace it (same thing but 30" tall) and they were going to use the same 1/2" glass. I was kinda leary with that...and with the good and bad I have read about them I couldnt help think...what if its my turn for issues. 300gal of water on the floor is no joke. So I started to look at acrylic...the price from glass cages for 3/4" glass was pricy...and acrylic wasnt much more...and my tank grew to 96x30x30 so I went acrylic. It will be easier to move and acrylic is supposed to have stronger seams and over all stronger...just scratching is the key issue. I will give it a try...and went with titan...they were the best to talk to when I started my looking...not saying the others arnt...just felt good with Titan. They are also all the good ones from tenacor so the quality is there even tho the rep might not be yet since they are kinda new. I plan to post a build thread....
