Hi there. Welcome to the world of tiger fish!
If u got time, try to read up on all posts regarding tigers and their stability (a stable tiger = strong black bars and nice gold or yellow base colour)
Basically, Microlepis do have habit of going dark/unstable, and tis can be at any time during their lifespan. I had a tiger go dark for 3 years, but after 4 years, its now stable and beautiful.
There are many things you can o to encourage their stability to get better, but in my experience:these work the best (no order of preference)
1) DEFINATELY, Add more tigers, 5 or more is ideal.
2) Dim lights
3)Extremely good water quality/fitration and frequent water changes
4) Add air stones to increase oxygen
5) Reduce hiding spaces as u will never see the tiger. However, try adding more tigers before doing this.
6) Patience
7) If u change decore/tank set up, then do it and leave it for at least 3 weeks, tigers take a long time to adjust to new conditons, tanks etc.
8) background?? light? or dark? not really a factor as many peaople on this forum have stable tigers in all various types of backround colour.
9) Fatten him up on feeders /live etc, Then u need to ween him on to frozen food. This can take several weeks or less, its down to the individual tiger.
10) Add dither fish to swim around in tank to encourage tigers to swim about also. If other fish are swimming freely, then the tigers think its safe also.

Good luck, but as mentioned, there is tons of stuff in past posts, with lots of useful advice from highly experienced dat/tiger owners.

as far as i know, people have several different type of datnoids in one tank. for instance, Indonesian tigers with NTT(Thinbar) or NGT and sometimes with siamese tiger <~~ expensive not alot of people have it. and i havent seen people with problems. i have a Indo and thinbar in same tank they get along fine

ok ..umm I have the probleme ... I don't have tank for 5 mature tigerfish lol ... for 5 tiger fish 10 - 15 cm ok but 5 30-45 cm ..no lol

Not quite sure whta your trying to say. But if you mean a tiger at 30 to 45cm, thatwill take an eternity for it to grow that big. well over 5 years.

The bottom line is, tigers need big tanks, they are large predatory fish. You would n't keep an arrowana in a small tank.

Buy a bigger tank. 5 foot or longer

my tank have 150 cm to long by 80 cm to large and 55 cm to high for total 182 gallons or +- 700 l ..is ok ? for 5 or 6 junior Datnoiodes ?
