I really like a very deccorated tank, but it seems with BIG fish it is very hard to keep it organized. My pacu is probably the most distructive fish in my tank. Although my plecos like to move the bubblers around. I do have a decorated log that my smaller Clown Knife likes to hide in.

yeah, I like the a deccorated tank too.
But the problem seems to be that you hardly see some fish because most of them are nightly active. And that in all the cracks and holes, the dirt stacks up, so you have a constant source of pollution. Also you can't catch fish if you want them removed, or any way not nearly as easy as in a bare tank.

Im figuring out how to combine a deccorated tank with fish the best way. So that there's no place for dirt to pile up, I can see the fish (or any way most of the time) and I can fish out a fish when I want to with relative ease.

Maybe anyone @ MFK has some ideas or experiences?? :feedback:

big fish just need big decorations :) then they won't be able to move them much if at all.

waste buildup in cracks or any other area in the tank is easily combatted with siphoning...

But if you put mutch wood in there, you wil always get spots in your tank with are dificult to reach. And then you get dirt with you can't remove.

I don't know what siphoning is, but I jused those air powered sticks witch suck the durt and poo in a bag, witch is above the water level. And with that i could not reach some sections of the tank, mostly where the wood was most densly.
I also tryed to let the bottom being higher at the back so the dirt get's stacked up in front where the sand was lower. But I never experienced real results from that. :wall:
