Hey friends.

just wanted to share my 300 gallon display tank that’s filled with discus, f1 Altum angelfish, and red head tapajos geophagus. I do have 6 more discus that are in separate breeding tanks as well including some super pantheras and super panthera varieties, king viper and leopard spotted snakeskin.
I hope everyone had a great and blessed weekend.

Beautiful thick healthy discus mate. The altums are dreamy as well!

Now that you have mentioned them, you know I'm gonna ask you for pics of your breeding set ups and there inhabitants 😂 🇦🇺

I’d be happy to share some pics. I currently have a tank with albino super panthera and super pantheras and a tank with a king viper and leopard spotted snakeskin pair. No confirmed pairs yet with the super pantheras and albino super pantheras but it’s looking like there’s some action in the works.

Lots of water changes with plenty of feedings with high quality food is key to growing our large healthy discus. For anyone who is raising discus in a planted tank or a tank with a lot of substrate , I’d highly advice against doing so if you want to get legit growth on your discus. Barebottom is best until they’re large adults and if you want a tank with substrate while growing them out, use just a thin layer of sand so you can vacuum up particles easily. Growing out discus in a planted tank IMO just doesn’t work with all the nitrates and ammonia the substrate holds.

Amazing mate. Really stunning discus. I hope you breeding efforts produce success for you!
I agree with the BB suggestion and large frequent wc’s for growing up thick healthy discus! Love the flat bottoming pic on your 98% water change 🤗
