Because my Jardini has become so aggressive I moved my medium sized oscar to a 35g aquarium with just him and a talking catfish. So now all he does is hide out so I thought I'd try some dither fish. The Tiger Barbs I put in are certainly luring him out of hiding...right into lunch and dinner! Any suggestions on dither fish for oscars that won't get too big and immediately eaten?

well if your Oscar is in a 35 gallon aquarium, i dont recommend ANY dither fish.

once you relocate him to a larger tank, THEN you could add something like Tinfoil Barbs or Silver Dollars.
