So I bought a 29g tank to turn into a sump for my 75g. I currently have an eshopps wd-100cs. Looking to get more media. So my question is the design I drew up, will it work? Or any advice would be great too this is my first post and first time making a sump.

Looks good. Should work.

It seems OK but i'm a little puzzled regarding your first chamber. If i'm looking at it correctly it looks like your first chamber gets flooded and overflows into your second chamber. So basically your first chamber isn't doing anything.

You could have varying degrees of coarse to fine sponges or filter socks in your first chamber and configurate your baffles so the water flows into the second chamber from the bottom, not the top. That first chamber will then be your mechanical side, not redundant as it looks from your diagram.

Maybe i'm not reading your diagram right, it's just that that's what it looks like to me the way you've planned it.

Im actually going to fill the first chamber with k1 and the second with sponges

May not be enough space to tumble if k1 is going in there.

I actually finally found a guy with a sump he designed identical to what i drew, with k1 in that first section and it seems to do pretty good
Ok cool.
