This is a good mixture for oscars, flowerhorns, any carnivore fish really + cost effective is in mind for those who have so many monsters to feed.
Ingredients:
1kg basa fillet or whatever cheap fish you can get i use basa because its readily available at such a good price of $7 a kg
500g peas (frozen)
2tbs Paprika ( enhances color orange in fish)
2 tbs spirulina (enhances green/blue)
2-3 Garlic
4tbs Frozen Spinach
4tbs Dried seaweed

Method:
very simple. Add all ingredients and Blend!!
Then place in ziplock bag flattened to desire size(3ml for me) and freeze and just break a piece off when you want to feed.

where is the "gelled" part? without the gell that mixture will breakup and cloud the whole tank before the fish gets to them and even worst when they spit it out

Oh sorry i forgot to add in the agar agar or gelatin if you wanted to bind it because i usually just freeze it and just snap off a piece and feed. But you are right its pretty messy.
So to gel all this i would use a whole packet of agar agar (25g), melt the agar agar in boiling water until fully dissolved and slowly mixed in with the fish food until you have a smooth texture, then you can put it in those silicone ice cube trays, baking tray, or those aluminium trays.
If you cant find agar agar you can use gelatin.

I make a very similar mixture. The biggest difference with mine is I don't blend it. Instead I dice everything up into manageable bite sized peices. Then mix all together and freeze in zip lock backs.. Spread everything out flat before freezing and pieces snap off very easily. Maybe it due to the larger peices but I never get cloudy water from this. I find tilapia and small "salad shrimp" pretty inexpensively so my mixture really doesn't cost too much.

Thats a great idea actually, i would use a mincer if i had one but since i dont have one blending will do but i totally agree with you if you are bothered dicing or have a mincer should totally use it pollutes the water way less. Also where so you get talapia from? Ive never seen it for sale.

Grocery store or Walmart. I just get the frozen stuff.. Believe it or not I recently found BOTH the frozen tilapia and the mini salad shrimp at the DOLLAR STORE!! (Ours has a small freezer section).. For just a few bucks I made a good supply of fish food.
