Hi guys.
I'm finnaly a member.thax to the mods.

Im plannig a almost 180 gal plywood tank also building the stand for it.
I currently have a 23gal planted tank,which i want to turn into a
fuge/sump for the 180 gal.

Is this to small for a sump.
Im plannig on having 2 Oscars and a common pleco in the 180.
I want to heavily plant the fuge as to aid in removing all the bad stuff from the 180.I have no ideas as how the sump/fuge will work.

Any advise guys.

interesting stand (bar stools) lol!

Your design pic looks good. I figure you will have more in depth plans before you start the build. It always helps when buying/cutting to have really detailed plans.
You mentioned beefing up your stand....what size boards are you going to use? For my stand I used doubled up 2x4's (cheaper than 4x4's)
Remember, it's better to overbuild than to underbuild :)

yeah im thinking double 2by4.as for the drawing, ill use sketchup for that.
Im considering building overflows on the sides of the tank so ill have to figure that out.
but thanx

Okay,Here is a better pic of my plan.
Im adding overflows on the sides of the tank,I left that panel open
so its easy to see the overflow divisions.
It will have a prefilter and then go to a sump/fuge.

Reason for the prefilter is so I can put less divisions in the sump and thus
have more plants to do filtrasion.

Okay,first design for the sump.
any positive crit please.
SumpFuge.jpg

There is no mecanical filters in the sump cause there are two overflow filters in the tank.
Also after the refugium i might add some floss around the pump to block some plant mater or such and to help in noice reduction.
