So I have some really nice flagstone left over from doing my little pathway and doing the boarder for the pond. Pond has been up and running for awhile now and I have really been wanting to do some sort of waterfall. Was looking at some fabricated ones that look like stone but would like to make one myself using my real stone I already have if possible. I don't really need it to be pouring a ton ow water since its a 300gallon and I already have a 900gph filter...just more for decoration. So I was thinking just stack up some stones...maybe silicone them together...have one sticking over the edge of the pond and have a little pump feeding it. So what would I need to do to get the water to actually pour into the pond and not just go everywhere? Was thinking maybe drill a hole in one of the stones and silicone a hose in it so the water bubbles up onto the rock or should it come from behind and be secured to the rock so it spits onto it? Do I need to try and carve a channel in the rock or make a lip of some sort to keep it from running down the edge and under the whole thing?

Sweet, looks good. yeah I was thinking about doing soemthing with one of those pre-made wiers and just putting a stone on top of it to hide it but was just wondering if I could make something without it, not going to be using it for filtration, just for aeration and effect.

I would suggest using Pond Foam instead of Silicone. It will fill in the voids between the stone nicely.

I built my water fall while standing in the pond. I placed my Largest piece of Flagstone down and then laid a row of flagstone around the perimeter of it. Then I ran a bead of Pond foam around and on the first row. then just worked my way up. I ended up with a 3 tier waterfall that I could stand on... I've since torn it down due to other issues I was having. But will try and find the pics of it.

Sweet thanks!, didn't even know they made that stuff. Pretty much what I was looking for, mine will porbably just be single tiered...so how do you get the water flowing to and over it?
