Specifically the engine?...Just wondering as I was recently threatened to have this done to my car.I'm not much worried about the threat but having heard about this over the years and hearing no confirmation either way I was just wondering?

No, but unless you wrench on your stuff yourself it could be costly. It can gum-up fuel lines, filters, destroy pumps, and clog injectors. I had a neighbor do it to one of my trucks, and used to have it happen all the time to when I ran a trucking company.

If they're an ass and dump a 5lb bag of sugar in, than yea you need to have your tank removed and dumped, small amounts won't make it past the filter. Either amount won't kill the engine, but may clog the fuel injectors.

No problemo Kel.

It's actually really hard to pour the amount needed to cause engine damage. Ever try and pour a powder down a small hole at a weird angle? It's not very easy.

i wrench for a living, and yes, very costly.
Won't destroy engine, but will keep it from running. Doesn't take that much from doing damage
Put a locking gas cap on

But sugar would be a little heavier than mere powder and would fall easier or faster wouldn't it?..One of those long neck type funnels would handle that,I would think.

If a person is willing to damage someone's car, I assume they'd consider the usage of a funnel.
