Just wanted to throw up a few pictures of what I've been working with lately...
First up is this male dovii that I personally caught/collected as part of a group from a large outdoor pond in Florida. These fish don't have a known F#, but have been raised as "wild" as any wild caught fish--I just refer to them as feral.
Here is the day I collected them:
Next I have some pictures of an F1 Rio Mag umbee I personally bred from my own wild caught breeding stock. We have brought in more wild caught umbee over the last two years than anyone else I know of--no less than four shipments--but this goes to show that F1 fish can be just as nice!
I also wanted to quickly address some funny rumors I've heard and read lately... ALL of my F1 umbee are bred by me in vats or tanks and anyone wanting a pair will be sent NON-SIBLING fish from two completely separate wild caught pairs. We do not use ponds for breeding, we use them to grow out small fish where they are placed in the ponds in late spring and removed by late fall and this is done because of the water quality, natural sunshine, and natural food sources. We also house many fish in our outdoor greenhouses. I prefer to raise fish like this as opposed to fluorescent lit bare-bottom tanks some other sellers use. Please feel free to contact me with any questions, my personal cell phone number is listed on my vendor page.
As always, I'm proud to be an MFK vendor and to support this community! Thanks for reading.
