Distribution: The Dovii Cichlid is found in Central America in places such as Honduras and Costa Rica
Habitat: Dovii cichlids inhabit the shallow parts of rivers where they like to dig caverns to breed in
Diet: A Dovii cichlids diet in the wild consists of other fish, crustaceans (shrimp, crayfish, etc.), bugs, worms, small mammals, frogs, and other meaty items. In an aquarium a Dovii cichlid should be fed high quality pellets, freeze dried and frozen meaty items, and quarantined feeders/feeders you raised on your own
Tank set up: A Dovii cichlid gets very large, upwards of 28 inches, so a 300+ gallon tank is required, Ideally being closer to 500 gallons, the tank should be atleast 10 feet long and 6 feet wide by the time the fish is full grown. Dovii cichlids are very messy eaters so very good filtration and frequent water changes are a must. The tank should be relatively barren as these fish can hurt themselves on large decorations
Water Parameters: The Dovii cichlid likes very clean water with no ammonia or nitrite, and nitrates below 20 ppm, they like a pH ranging from 6.0-8.0 and temperatures ranging from the mid 70s to the mid 80s (24-27 degrees celsius)
Tankmates: None, a Dovii cichlid will kill anything you put in the tank with it (unless it's another Dovii of the opposite sex, then you might have a chance)
Identification: The dovii cichlid can be identified by a few main features. Parachromis cichlids are deep bodied, with menacing teeth and a mouth that comes to more of a point (almost like that of a dog) . The way you can differentiate between a Dovii and the other Parachromis species is by looking at the colors, a Dovii cichlid is much more blue than the other Parachromis cichlids. There are two types of Dovii cichlids, the Nicaraguan Dovii (which has a more rounded mouth) and a Costa Rican Dovii (which has a much more pointed mouth)

...Man. I appreciate what you're trying to do. At the same time, you're not succeeding in accomplishing your goals. Please reference the private message I sent you for some pointers on how to be a success. A ten minute type up like this won't get you the kind of reputation you're hoping for. A thread like this should be long, well researched, comprehensive and (frankly) challenging to write adequately. This isn't even in the correct section.
Reply in the PM thread and I will literally walk you through the process of writing up one of these threads in such a way as to meet the quality standard that this website will consider valuable.
