Hi guys, haven't post for a while as i have school, today I would like to share about Tor tambroides breeds, these mahseers are expensive fishes as they have plant based diets and edible scales
5.Captive bred
Comparison against captive Empurau (T.tambroides, above) and Jelawat (L.Hoevenii, below)
Captive bred Empuraus are bred in Malaysia, they have to eat plant based diets like corn and other fruits to simulate their habitat and diet.They require flowing water, clear waters (like spring water and mountain spring water) and cold water
(water temp should be 23-24).
4.Sarawak wild
This Empurau originates from Sarawak of Malaysia, they live in clear rivers and have diets that mostly consists the dipterocarpus cornutus, they have a wider body, sharper head and convex body, bodies are a little humped up.
3.Wild Metalback
These Empurau have large scales and a reddish short body also called semi-short body Empurau, they are rare and also found in the Sarawak river along with the Sarawak wild, they also have a sharper head than the Sarawak wild and the most delicious place of this breed was the cheeks and fish lips, their most delicious part is their tender and most fragrant belly.
4. Long body
The Long body Empurau was a rare form than the metalback, it was only caught wild as captive breeding was very hard.
3.Short body
this type of breed is very expensive as it is rare and hard to find in the wild, captives have been succesfully raised
1.Emerald Super short body
This one of the rarest breeds, it has emerald coloured scales and a super short body, only Empurau breeder James Wong have most of this breed, his Emerald super short body is from the Sarawak river, all of his fishes are wild caught by anglers.
