I finally caught up with all the posts on this thread lol. I'm glad your fishes are ok. When i was setting up my tank i did a lot of searching around online on silicone and found the following:

GE silicone I is aquarium safe
GE silicone II contain Bio-guard (all Silicone II contain Bio-guard no matter if its labeled or not) according to GE the Bio-guard chemicals will continue to leach into water for as long as 5 years.

Silicone curing time for a thin bead is 72 hours depending on humidity. So for installing back ground where little ventilation is available and usually a generous amount of silicone is used, i would aloud 4-5 days before adding water.

Here is the final aquascaping pics took yesterday

There are 13 F1 Frontosa - Kapampa fry ranging from 1.5 to 2.5 inches. They are so small that i can barely see them in the pics lol. I'll have 2-3 years before i have to get a larger tank.

Tank looks GREAT man! I like the rockwork now better than you had it before. I have always been a closet front lover.. :grinno: I will do a tank one day. Once I learn what I am doing with them anyway. I wish I would have done more homework before using the GEII but live, learn and chock it up to more experience I guess.

Thank you  It took me forever to finally having Fronts. I have been wanting to keep them since 2001 but they where too expensive back then as only wild caught were available. Fronts are fun and pretty easy to keep. I hope you will give it a try.

Here are some information that i have gathered on 3D background hope it will help you and others with future projects.

Which silicone to use!

GE silicone I is aquarium safe
GE silicone II contain Bio-guard (all Silicone II contain Bio-guard no matter if its labeled or not) according to GE the Bio-guard chemicals will continue to leach into water for as long as 5 years. So please to not use any Silicone II type or you will loose your fishes.

Silicone curing time for a thin bead is 72 hours depending on humidity. So for installing back ground where little ventilation is available and usually a generous amount of silicone is used, i would allow at least 4-5 days before adding water. Silicone release ammonia and methanol during curing process so it will kill your fishes if you don't allow enough curing time

I've got some fronts as well. Actually, right now they're living with my Uaru and Abalios... it bothers me every time... but it's healthier for them. One of these days someone'll buy them.
