Thanks guys. I was happy with the setups. Despite the fact I think the leaching has stopped, I don't want to leave it up to chance. The 300 gallon has been officially taken down. I will strip the silicone and anchor the BG better and start over, hence the change in stock. I have already sold almost my entire collection of SA's to do the tanks again. I'm not really upset by it though. Setup is fun to me so this is just part of the challenge. I am also waiting on the 300 gallon in case the new 30" BG come in 96" wide. If they do, the tank will get a new BG (tax season woot!)David K. Bradley;4833198; said:Hey Justin:
Been gone for a bit. Had a two week motel stay at the local infirmary with a touch of pnemonia, but I'm back now. After catching up on the thread, I'm glad to see all ya' all found the solution as to what was causing your fish to be ill. I'm happy it got figured out. Both you young men (You and ACW) have put in a mountain of time and effort in setting up your tanks. Now you're gutting the 300? And ACW is going to do the same with his tank? I think 5 yrs is too long for anyone to wait for silicone to completely cure, so I'd probably do the same thing and start over from the beginning.
I think you made a good decission on your selection of fish and sorry to hear you sold the others. Maybe it was for the best, but if you get attached to animals like I do, you don't like selling them regardless of what reason, cause they become a large part of my life and almost like my kids.
But now I see that you're starting over with the 125. Hmmm. What's wrong with this idea. Must be the dark water not the dark side. hahaha. But if it's what it's all about, "epic overhauls" then so be it. I'll just wish you the best of everything until your done and satisfied with your results and then we move on to the next one.
Until next time,
David

But great looking set up. Nice to see someone from the NW, especially Vancouver posting this journal for all of us to see. Great ideas and suggestions from everyone.

Wag is really good at eating any hands "intruding" into his tank.DaveB;4838438; said:Hahahaha, the glass bangin swordtail has his own monster tank.
Do swordtails eat algae the way mollies do? I know platies and mollies are related but I don't recall my platy ever doing much of that.
Right now I have three of my cousin's mollies imported into my tank to do some algae cleanup. They're pretty damn good at it.
