Current Stock:
x5 Satanoperca mapiritensis
x20 Hyphessobrycon columbianus

Future Stock:
^ same

The plans to change this tank are minimal other than, a new stand, new lighting and plumbing in the inline heater/UV I just picked up to the FX5. The plants in the top of the tank are very healthy so I am considering adding a hydroponic tray/channel to the top of the tank for fun.

The Hyphessobrycon columbianus are growing really big for their species. All are around 2.5" and they school in a very tight group.. Love these guys, highly recommend them over any other tetra species.

The Satanoperca mapiritensis are doing really well and courting one another often. I have not moved these guys over to full on RO yet but should be fully converted over by the end of March. I'll add the leaves they need to spawn when I get the tank moved over to RO.

125 gallon in a sec..

Current stock:
x5 Vieja zonatus 'Rio Carolina'
x2 Nandopsis tetracanthus "Cuban" (m/f pair)

Future stock:
x2 exCichlasom festae

All of the tannin stained black water is gone and it's now a clear water CA growout. The fish in the tank right now are temporary until I finish redoing the 300 gallon, more on that in a sec.

125G 01.JPG

Currently running a single FX5 and 40watt UV :screwy: you can see the difference of the blackwater in this pic (old) to the previous one all cleared up.

125G 02.JPG

I measured and cut up a few pieces of manzanita (have more coming in the near future as I mentioned a few pages ago) I am really happy with how it is coming along. The design is very simple but classy. Pretty soon, it will be epic ;)

The Nandopsis tetracanthus pair. These two are about 3" and are already trying to spawn. The female is in breeding dress (see below pics). I am flat out giddy over these two...! :headbang2

These are the Vieja zonatus 'Rio Carolina'. They are also going in the 300 gallon with the cuban pair. It looks like I have 2 males and 3 females and will have to thin back as they age. I only want 1 male and 2-3 females long term.

When I gut the background currently in the 300 gallon, I will be moving it to this tank (minus the silicone of course) and modeling it the same. A breeding festae pair in going to look HOT in this tank!!

update on the 300 gallon and 45 gallon in a sec..

Current stock:
x1 Heros sp. 'Rotkeil'

Future stock:
x3 Vieja zonatus 'Rio Carolina'
x2 Nandopsis tetracanthus "Cuban"

This poor tank is in shambles.. All of the leaching has stopped. DBN is bringing in the new 30" tall backgrounds so I talked to Matt and will be getting one of the first when they come in. I am looking forward to redoing this tank ALLOT.. Right now it's just staying cycled with my big Heros sp. 'Rotkeil' and keeping some wood water logged for use in other tanks..

300G 01.JPG

Since this tank is going to house some large CA cichlids (who love to redecorate) so I pulled out the overflow towers and added the gutter guard to the bottom of the towers as well so no one tries to use them as hiding places and get inside.

AND THIS.......... Is the guy that was almost dead a few pages back from my silicone mistake.. He is looking better than ever and back to begging for food at the "pellet funnel".. Total stud of a fish. I worked hard bringing him back and am proud of how good he looks. I'm glad I was able to save him :headbang2:headbang2:headbang2

That's pretty much all I have gotten done with my tanks besides setting up a 45 gallon. It is not "internet worthy" though yet lol.. I think I am going to start a new thread when I redo the 300 gallon though. A start to finish of the new tank now that I know what I want to do with it. :naughty:

The 120 looks great! The 300 comes with ipod and speakers eh...you baller! lol
I've been "selling" the DBN backgrounds to others so much that now i want to get some more....they are all out of stock on DBN's site lol
Glad you know what to do with the 300. This is the inspiration for my next tank (not in that size....i wish lol) http://showcase.aquatic-gardeners.org/2010.cgi?&op=showcase&category=1&vol=-1&id=15
I'm waiting to see what new background DBN will be offering

Thanks man! I spend so much time out there I like to have a little music to listen to while I work. Listening to to blues in the garage with a brew snf s bunch of cichlids is where it's at ;) I have not seen the new stock og BG's either but I have to redo the 300 gallon no matter what so I'm ordering one.

MATT, MFK NEEDS SNEAK PEEKS BRO!!! I WANNA SEE THE NEW ONES REALLY BAD! HOOK US UP!

Very early to tell, but two "pairs" seem to be forming, as they always are together and seem like male and female fish. Could easily just be schooling/social behavior at this point. Out of the other two, one is very small and thinks he/she is a clown loach, and the other has claimed that wood piece you gave me in the center (even though he/she is also small) and seems a bit retarded.
I'm having a great time watching these guys. :D
