Where do you find exotic freshwater fish specifically cichlids in South Florida waterways? I am looking to catch them.

The shot above was taken just south of Everglades City, its part of the ditch that runs along the main highway.
These oscars were also in one of the ditches.

I didn’t get a chance to explore any fresh water while I was down there, but the one pond I did spend some time at had some kind of cichlid in it.
I think you just pick a spot and start fishing ?

Any ditch on the side of the highways or main roads will have cichlids in south Florida. Just get some worms on a hook. Even got pbass up near central Florida water ways.

Caught plecos in WPB ditches N lake O had them by the hundreds just make sure no gators around first that was like 10 years ago
