Eye Color and Fertility...

What is the relevance of different color eyes and fertility. My bro said female with RED eyes means infertililty, but I dont believe that...my female FHs have red eyes and lays eggs like she defecates.

Also if some Breeders use "chemicals" that sterilizes FHs then why do they do it, or what is it used for....Maybe these are Rumors?

I hope people can chime in on these 2 subjects to further educate me. Thanx
 
red eyes usally means fertile with male and female orangish/white eye are more infertile.
 
Red eyes usually means the fish is fertile. Yellow/white = a slim chance(This usually only applies to male FH's) Female Fh's with white eyes can lay eggs regardless. As for the breeders using hormones.. Its rumored that when breeders feed their fish a brand of food called XO ocean something(?) that contains artificial hormones which will cause the FH's to become sterile. It is afterall a rumor, not sure if anyones proven it.
 
My understanding:1). Both ZHEN ZHU male and female are fertile. They happen to have red eye for most original "strain". 2). Male KAMFA is sterile. KAMFA happen to have white eye for most original " stain". After generation by generation development, the eye color is no longer a criteria to distinguish these two common "strain". But I believe the above two explanation is where the eye color/sterile puzzle comes from.

I found I can't modify my post. So, add another one to further explain it. KAMFA male is not fertile because of the hybrid. But after a long time development and further hybrid, everything became very complicated. Although some KAMFA male is fertile now, but one needs to keep it growing until 2 years. That's why good KAMFA "stain" is hard to get.
For hormone, just some people want more color earlier, so they add it to the diet. No matter to male or female, accepte hormone at fry or juven will cause sterile.
FH has the most complicated gene background I've ever seen. Don't even think about to explain something simply. 99% things for FH is un-repeatable.
 
older kamfa males were almost all infertile and the fertile ones couldent breed with kamfas.. so they where breed with zz's. i never bred kamfas and have no clue how there gentics work. i based this on all the info i have gather on kamfa. this might be wrong sice true FH breeder are most tight liped when it come to how the breed/what the breed.
