Does anyone know a link to or how to make the fake driftwood you see at municipal aquariums. I want to make some mangrove type pieces and don't want to use the real thing. I know they use some sort of pipe as the base, it's the realistic exterior I'm after.

You might want to look at home-made playdough. It's easy to make and sculpt. Once you was done, let it harden or bake it then seal it with a waterproofing epoxy or other agent. You can pre-paint the clay then seal it.
