Woke up this morning to my 3 inch oranda with this white growth/lump/blister. There is one large one above his eye and then a smaller white dot below. The smaller white dot is usual for him when his wen is growing. He's in a 45g with two other small fancies. Fluval 306, nitrate <20, nitrite and ammonia 0. 30-40% pwc 1-2 times per week, temp between 65-68 F. Hikari goldfish pellets, peas, oranges, bloodworms and tubiflex worms are rotated as food.
This looks like it might be wen growth but it seems so rapid and larger than his past growth. It isn't fuzzy or fluffy. The skin is the same texture as the surrounding skin. There is no redness either. No other signs of illness, eating well, active swimming, other two goldies are spot free.
I've been getting different opinions from other forums; it might be a cyst, a bacterial or fungal infection, or wen growth. Any idea? I am just observing him right now to see if it changes. Thanks for the help!
